Please note - we do most of our blogging these days (weekly) over at Family Friendly Fort Lauderdale. It just became WAY MORE interesting for our learners to talk about all the cool things happening in the Greater FTL, than make the conversation about our school. But every once in awhile we add something here that is thought-provoking to too good to not share.
Short Version: Acton is a special place where we learn and grow. We don't just get advice, we have a really good reason to do things and we keep track of what we do. This helps us learn better and do amazing things. It's not just about getting advice, it's about having a reason to do things and keeping track of what we do. We want to help children find their special thing and do amazing things in the world.

In my quest to understand and explain the unique nature of Acton, I stumbled across a blog post on the Tim Ferriss website that really struck a chord with me. The headline simply read, "We don't need more advice." It made me realize that what we truly need is a deep, introspective reckoning - a compelling reason to take action and a system to keep it at the forefront of our awareness.
And this is where Acton excels. Every day, we are provided with:
- A compelling reason to take action, and this is built into our systems. W
- And we set goals and track our progress, constantly keeping our objectives in focus.
This is the key to the significant learning difference at Acton.
In a world of information abundance, there is no shortage of advice or how-tos. Take the example of weight loss - there is an abundance of advice on the topic, yet so many people remain unhappy with their body weight. The difference lies in the intention behind our actions. As the blog post stated, "We can achieve anything that we set our minds to if we act with the intention of being remarkable."
At Acton, our goal is not to inundate our students with advice, but to help them find their calling and empower them to go out and change the world. This is the essence of the Acton experience - a thoughtful and purposeful approach to education that goes beyond mere instruction. It is this approach that sets Acton apart and fosters the remarkable potential within each and every learner.
If you you want to achieve big things... act with the intention of being remarkable." ~ Chad Fowler
Acton: A Revolutionary Approach to Education
In the bustling world of education, where advice and how-tos abound, one school stands out as a beacon of innovation. Acton, a unique educational institution, has captured the attention of many, leaving parents and educators alike wondering what sets it apart from the rest.
The answer came to me in a blog post on the Tim Ferriss website, where the headline boldly declared, "We don't need more advice." This simple statement encapsulates the essence of Acton's approach. Rather than inundating students with advice, Acton provides them with a compelling reason to take action, and a tracking system to ensure it stays at the forefront of their awareness.
Every day, learners at Acton are motivated by a clear purpose, and this drive is embedded in the school's systems. From goal-setting to tracking progress, Acton ensures that students are constantly reminded of their objectives. This unique approach has led to a significant difference in the way students learn and engage with their education.
In a world overflowing with information, the key to success lies not in more advice, but in a powerful reckoning that compels action. This is the ethos that underpins Acton's philosophy. As one quote from the blog post aptly puts it, "We can achieve anything that we set our minds to if we act with the intention of being remarkable."
At Acton, the focus is not on teaching, but on igniting a passion for learning and discovery. The goal is to help learners find their calling and empower them to go out and change the world. This, more than anything else, is what sets Acton apart and makes it a true trailblazer in the world of education.
Summary:
Acton is different because we focus on giving young people a compelling reason to take action every day, and we have systems in place to track their progress. We don't need more advice, we need a reason to take action and a way to keep it at the forefront of our awareness. This is why Acton's approach to learning is significantly better and different. Our goal is to help young people find their calling and go out and change the world.
What's Next:
Okay, so Acton is a really special place because it helps young people do hard things and learn in a different way. But why is it so different? Well, as we found the answer in a blog post on the Tim Ferriss website. The key is that we don't need more advice - we need a strong reason to take action and a way to keep that reason in our minds.
At Acton, we have a compelling reason to take action every day, and we have systems in place to help us track our progress and goals. This is really important because we live in a world where there's a lot of information and advice, but not a lot of real action and change. We want to help our learners find their calling and make a real difference in the world. That's what makes Acton different and so effective for learning.
